Children's Programs on Sundays

Children are an important part of our church community. While we love having them around us, we are also aware that they are full of energy and bounce. Children also have a different way of learning and need a suitable environment to grow together. Of course, they also take part in our services at various times and different ways too.

At all our services a dedicated and caring group of adult volunteers take the time to focus on meeting the social and spiritual needs of children.

At the Heatley 9.00am service an interactive program is provided for ages 3 to 6 years old in the Atrium called the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

Please go to their website for more information http://www.cgsaust.org.au/.

This is a Christian formation process for children in which they experience and form an authentic, faithful relationship with God. A Sunday School programme (using Scripture Union material) is provided for ages 6 to 12 years old.

On the fourth Sunday of the month we hold an All Age Family Worship service which involves all the family.

A similar (combined) program is available for the small group of children during the Rasmussen 9.30am service. The children will leave early in the service (or just before the sermon) and then will be brought back before the service concludes - particularly if Holy Communion is being celebrated.

All of the supervising adults have been trained in working with children and all have been screened according to our strict criteria and comply with the Queensland Working With Children Policy. We are keen to provide a safe and enjoyable environment that benefits the children as well as their parent(s) or carers.

The programs provide significant spiritual input, occasional singing or musical activity, memory work and an opportunity for creative expression through craft, puzzles or drama. The programs run on all Sundays at Heatley during the school term except the fourth Sunday, which is an All Age Worship Service..
